Trained in orthopaedic surgery in Amiens, Dr Chelli then subspecialised in shoulder surgery at Nice University Hospital under Professor Boileau, where he served as a senior registrar (chef de clinique).
He is also active in clinical research, with work on the rotator cuff, shoulder instability, joint replacement and fractures.
